The Davao police reported an armed robbery incident that occurred on a bus in Carmen, North Davao Province, resulting in the death of a man.
Captain Dennis Agosto, deputy chief of the Carmen Police Station, stated that the victim was a 54-year-old man who was attacked and shot by two armed suspects.
It is known that the victim had boarded the bus from a mall in Tagum City heading to Davao City, while the suspects boarded at Timog Tagum in Tagum City, approximately 1.5 kilometers between the two stops.
When the bus reached Sto. Niño, one of the suspects suddenly shot the victim in the head and stole his backpack as he fell to the ground, then quickly got off the bus and fled the scene.
During the escape, the suspect also stole a motorcycle named "Doy." So far, the suspects have not been captured.
It is noteworthy that on December 23, six days ago, another vicious bank robbery occurred in Davao de Oro.
A company cashier was robbed at gunpoint after withdrawing money from the bank, and the robbers not only stole 3.7 million pesos in cash but also killed the security guard escorting the cashier. The nature of the crime is severe and has attracted nationwide attention.
Currently, the police have arrested one suspect, while others are still at large.
