According to reports from Myanmar media, the town of Muse in northern Shan State has recently become a "disaster area" for robbery cases, with at least six incidents occurring within a month, causing great concern among local residents.
A woman from Muse town revealed that on the day, two Chinese men drove a car and robbed a roadside fried food shop.
The woman stated that although it is unclear whether these robbers belong to any organization, the frequent incidents have made residents panic.
Disappointingly, there is little news of the police catching the suspects, and similar vicious cases also occurred on December 22.
On that day, two Chinese nationals snatched two motorcycles and continued to chase two women heading towards Yangon Gong. The women tried to escape to the mountains but were eventually intercepted and robbed by the bandits.
Insiders revealed that the surge in robbery cases might be related to the shrinkage of the online scam business. The online scam industry, once known as the "tiger business," has seen a sharp decline in profits, leading some criminals to turn to robbery to maintain their illegal income.
In response to the recent frequent robbery incidents, local residents have repeatedly called for relevant departments to take stricter measures, including increasing patrols and improving law enforcement efficiency, to ensure the safety of life and property.
With the continuous increase in cases, the security situation in Muse town has attracted high attention from the outside world. Residents hope that the authorities can intervene quickly, curb the further spread of criminal activities, and restore normal order in the community.
