On January 2, 2025, the Makati City police reported a home invasion robbery involving Chinese nationals, which was successfully solved in less than 48 hours. All 5 suspects have been arrested.

The incident occurred on December 30, 2024, around 7:30 AM, when 5 suspects drove into the victim's residence, armed with guns of unknown caliber, and restrained the victim with handcuffs and tape.

The suspects robbed the victim, stealing 20 various iPhones, 1 Android phone, 1 HP laptop, a gold necklace and bracelet, an iWatch SE2, a gold watch, and 46,000 Philippine pesos in cash. Additionally, the suspects stole the victim's Lexus car along with all its documents and paperwork, totaling approximately 5.886 million pesos in value.

Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured and immediately reported the crime after escaping. The police then launched a close pursuit and achieved a breakthrough at 3 AM on January 1, 2025, arresting the 33-year-old mastermind in the parking lot of Fernando Street, Pio Del Pilar Barangay, Makati City. This Chinese citizen had previously lived at the victim's residence.

During interrogation, the mastermind disclosed the location of the stolen vehicle, and the police subsequently recovered the stolen Lexus in a parking lot in BGC.

Based on the mastermind's testimony, the other four suspects were also arrested in succession, and the police successfully recovered the stolen items, including the Lexus.

The Makati City police stated that the swift resolution of the case demonstrates their commitment to protecting the safety of residents and foreigners. Dela Torre, the chief of Makati police, noted, "The quick resolution of this case reflects our commitment to combating crime and serves as a deterrent to potential criminals."

However, the police also pointed out many suspicious aspects of the case. The mastermind had previously lived with the victim, suggesting the crime involved acquaintances. Moreover, the theft of not only valuables but also a vehicle and related documents indicates that the robbery was premeditated. The case is still under further investigation.
