According to Philippine media reports, recently, the police in Antipolo City cracked down on an illegal electronic gambling case, arresting four suspects. It is reported that these suspects organized gambling activities in a "guerrilla-style" manner, described as an illegal operation mode similar to a "beggar-version POGO".
The police revealed that the suspects used internet-connected mobile phones to quickly place electronic bets and show the results to gamblers in real time. However, once the results were unfavorable, they would quickly shut down the live broadcast, flee with the money, and repeat similar criminal methods in other areas.
The head of the Antipolo police stated: "Their operations are very covert and flexible, using technical means to evade tracking, but our law enforcement team has successfully recovered some of the gambling funds."
Currently, the four suspects are facing charges of violating the Illegal Gambling Act, and the case is still under further investigation. The police emphasized that they will continue to intensify efforts to crack down on illegal gambling activities to maintain public order and legal authority.
