Operators Grupo Aposta Ganha and sports betting provider Betby have commenced operations in Brazil's newly regulated sports betting and gaming market, which officially started on January 1, 2025.
Both companies are among the first to meet the new regulatory standards under the supervision of the Treasury Department's Bonus and Gaming Secretariat (SPA).
Grupo Aposta Ganha has been operating in Brazil for six years and has obtained registration number 0022 in the Brazilian Gaming Management System (Sigap). This approval allows the platform to offer services in accordance with Brazil's regulatory framework, which emphasizes responsible gaming and consumer protection.
Grupo Aposta Ganha's co-CEO Rene Santos stated: "The strict standards specified in the application will bring stronger consumer protection and market integrity. Our hard work has placed us in an exclusive company tier, authorized to provide a fun and 100% safe gaming experience nationwide."
Aposta Ganha has established its business in São Paulo, aiming to provide a localized gaming experience.
Betby also received certification from the International Gaming Laboratory (GLI) in December 2024, and has been approved by regulatory authorities. This certification confirms its compliance with Brazilian standards for information security, platform functionality, and sports betting operations.
Betby's legal director Ilze Ramolina stated: "Brazil is one of the most dynamic and potential markets globally. Obtaining GLI certification highlights our commitment to integrity, compliance, and long-term success in the region."
Good news: Brazil's regulated gambling industry is expected to become one of the largest globally, thanks to the country's passion for sports and a growing digital gaming audience.
Betby's sports betting solutions are tailor-made for the Brazilian market, adopting localized designs to align with the country's strong sports culture, especially football.
The Brazilian market has also attracted operators like Stake, which recently appointed Thomas Carvalhaes as its national manager for Brazil after obtaining federal permission.
Stake's local team prioritizes compliance and market integration, similar to the strategies of Aposta Ganha and Betby.
