The Secretary of Awards and Betting (SPA) and the Federal Revenue have created a joint task force to monitor the behavior of the gaming and betting sector in terms of tax regularity and to identify possible illegal activities by unauthorized companies. The GTI-Bets will also support a proposal for a compliance program for the regularization of tax obligations for periods prior to authorization.
The Joint Order RFB/SPA No. 3 stipulates that the Interscretarial Working Group will monitor the maintenance of the requirements for the authorization of bets and will support possible involvement of unauthorized bets in Brazil with money laundering crimes and other offenses.
The GTI-Bets will also support a proposal for a compliance program for the regularization of tax obligations for periods prior to authorization, for authorized bets. It will also propose a joint action to instruct the work of repressive inspection of the Subsecretariat of Inspection of the Federal Revenue and propose the creation of a specific channel for the sharing of information, within the legal limits of action of each body, observing tax secrecy.
The GTI-Bets will be composed of three members, appointed by the Subsecretariat of Inspection of the Federal Revenue, General Coordination of Research and Investigation of the Federal Revenue and Secretary of Awards and Betting.
The duration of the GTI-Bets will be six months, extendable by decision of the secretaries. The group must present bimonthly reports to the secretariats, in addition to a final conclusive report at the end of the work.
