Previously reported tycoon Heng Sethy, who accused the former governor of Sihanoukville, Guo Zongren, of accepting bribes from a scam park, has made shocking statements demanding the resignation of the head of the National Police, Su Tong, or he will expose evidence of his bribery.
On December 31, Heng Sethy released an audio clip nearly 10 minutes long, in which he demands Su Tong to resign immediately.
Heng Sethy stated: "Su Tong uses his official power to collude with criminals to set up illegal online gambling parks across Cambodia. Without his protection, these gambling parks would not be as prosperous."
Heng Sethy called on Prime Minister Hun Manet to remove Su Tong from the police system.
The National Police of Cambodia denied Heng Sethy's allegations on December 30, claiming that Su Tong took a bribe of 5 million dollars from Phua Gek Seng, a Cambodian-born Singaporean, and listed him (Heng Sethy) on the Interpol wanted list.
The National Police demanded Heng Sethy to immediately correct the false information he released.
Heng Sethy is the president of the Cambodian Maritime Group. He reported in late November that Phua Gek Seng had set up hundreds of online gambling websites, suspected of money laundering and defrauding millions of people in Asia.
Heng Sethy claimed that Phua Gek Seng employed cyber armies and technicians in Cambodia to operate the "AFB88" gambling site, with assets totaling over one billion dollars, and has casinos in Sihanoukville and the Vietnam border.
However, Phua Gek Seng stated that Heng Sethy was completely extorting and maliciously defaming him, and claimed that an airplane account named "Heng Sethy" had previously extorted 2 million dollars from him, hoping the police would arrest Heng Sethy.
On January 3, Heng Sethy said that he met Phua Gek Seng by chance in 2021 through a sports car event, not knowing that Phua was the mastermind behind a major online crime operation. Phua had Heng Sethy invest 10 million dollars into his hotel project, but later only returned 5 million dollars. Later, Phua, along with Hun To, robbed him of land worth 250 million dollars.
Heng Sethy also posted: "Su Tong and Hun To are the protectors of online gambling across Cambodia, taking illegal criminals' money as protection."
Heng Sethy also called for Hun Sen and Hun Manet to punish the criminal family members within the Hun family, but did not specify Hun To's name in the post.
