The New York State Gaming Commission has released its latest report, detailing the performance of the mobile sports betting industry for the fiscal year 2024/2025.
Data shows that the total betting amount was $17.05 billion, generating a total gaming revenue (GGR) of $1.55 billion, of which $790.4 million was allocated to educational programs.
The previous fiscal year (2023/2024) had a total revenue of $19.64 billion, generating $1.76 billion in gaming revenue, and contributed $898.5 million to education.
This marks a significant growth from the 2022/2023 fiscal year, which had a turnover of $16.4 billion and a gaming revenue of $1.46 billion.
Recent monthly data shows that gambling activities exhibit a seasonal pattern, with a noticeable increase during the autumn sports season.
In December 2024, gambling revenue reached $2.28 billion, with a total gaming revenue of $150.4 million. November 2024 was particularly successful, with total gaming revenue growing to $231.6 million from $2.27 billion in gambling revenue.
The state's revenue sharing model continues to maintain a consistent structure, with about 51% of the GGR allocated to platform providers, and the remainder (minus adjustments and fines) allocated to educational projects.
These educational funds include special allocations for problem gambling education and treatment ($6 million) and youth sports activities ($5 million).
