Yang Zeqi was last seen near the Myanmar border, appearing very stressed during a video call.

Over two weeks ago, a Chinese male model disappeared near the Thai-Myanmar border, and his father sought help from the chief of the Thai police to find his son.

Yang Zeqi disappeared after arriving in Thailand last month. On Thursday, lawyer Ratchaphon Sirisakhon accompanied Yang's father to the Thai Police Headquarters to petition for assistance in finding his son.

This case is very similar to that of Chinese actor Wang Xing, who was trafficked to a scam center in Myawaddy, stayed there for four days, and was then brought back to Thailand unharmed but with his hair shaved off.

The case of Wang has caused significant concern in China, pushing the Thai government into crisis management mode, with indications that some Chinese tourists have canceled their trips to Thailand for safety reasons.

Pol Gen Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, the Director-General of the Royal Thai Police, stated that the news of Yang Zeqi's disappearance has also been widely reported by foreign media.

Mr. Ratchaphon said that Mr. Yang had a video call with his mother via WeChat on December 29, during which he appeared very worried and scared.

Someone saw him dressed in black, sitting on a chair with his hands on the table. His father noted that his son's eyes were injured and he did not have a mobile phone in his hands.

His father believes that during the video call, someone else might have been holding the phone. During the detention, his son did not seek any help or send any signals.

His father believes that someone was closely monitoring Yang during his detention.

His family had earlier filed a complaint with the police's anti-human trafficking department on January 10.

However, so far, no progress has been made.

According to messages Yang sent to his girlfriend and other friends, the last known location of him was in Phop Phra or Mae Sot district of Tak Province.

There have been no further updates on his social media, and it is unknown whether he has crossed the Moei River into Myanmar.

Mr. Ratchaphon believes that Thais, Chinese, and Burmese are involved in the disappearance of this Chinese model.

He said he has evidence that two vehicles were used to transport Yang.

One vehicle picked him up at Suvarnabhumi Airport, and later he was transferred to a second vehicle. The lawyer said he has photos of the license plates.
