This week, Corinthians promoted the 2025 Sports Integrity Meeting, focusing on women's soccer. With the presence, among others, of Luiz Felipe Santoro, president of the Commission on Gaming and Betting Law of the Brazilian Bar Association São Paulo Section, the meeting addressed key issues such as match-fixing, sports betting, and data protection.

This was the third event organized by Corinthians' Integrity sector. The first was aimed at the club's top management and the second, at athletes in training. This time, the meeting was geared towards professional athletes.

According to Ricardo Torrado, risk and internal controls analyst at Corinthians, meetings like this are fundamental to ensure integrity, governance, and compliance in the club. “These are strategic actions to discuss the importance of best practices in the world of sports.”

The 2025 Sports Integrity Meeting was attended by all the athletes, technical staff, and board of the professional women's team of Corinthians.

Luiz Felipe Santoro, president of the Commission on Gaming and Betting Law of the Brazilian Bar Association São Paulo Section, spoke about the importance of integrity, with an emphasis on combating competition manipulation and sports betting.

According to him, it is essential that athletes are aware of and comply with the legislation and other norms and regulations regarding integrity and competition manipulation, under penalty of sanctions that go beyond the sports realm and reach the criminal sphere.

The preservation of sports integrity, with the fight against competition manipulation being just one of its aspects, is a fundamental pillar for the sustenance of the sport itself and also underpins the legal and regulated betting market, as it ensures the uncertainty of competition outcomes,” he highlighted.

In addition to sports integrity, the meeting also dealt with data protection, doping, and racism.

Attorney Calza Neto, data protection and cybersecurity specialist at CNK Lawyers, applauded the holding of the meeting at Corinthians and said that “to educate is to prevent.”

This initiative is not just a training, but a movement of preparation and empowerment. By equipping its athletes with legal and ethical knowledge, Corinthians shows that caring for the future goes far beyond the fields: it is about protecting values, building trust, and preventing risks that can compromise the sport,” he reinforced.
