Starting 1 February, Norsk Tipping, Norway’s state owned gambling monopoly, will lower the maximum amount players aged 20-to-24 can lose on licensed games each month.

The move is aimed at enhancing protections for young adults against gambling-related problems. In 2023, Norsk Tipping reduced the monthly loss limit for players aged 18 to 20 to NOK 2,000 [$177]. Now, the company is extending similar measures to older young adults. The new loss limits are structured as follows:

20-21 years: NOK 3000 [$265]
22-24 years: NOK 5000 [$442]

“Few or no national gambling markets in the world protect customers better against gambling problems than the Norwegian one. Nevertheless, there is more to be done,” said Bjørn Helge Hoffmann, Head of Responsible Gaming at Norsk Tipping.
