Riverside Casino and the Washington County Riverboat Foundation are taking next steps on Thursday in the petition it started that is challenging the Linn County casino efforts.
Last week, the Linn County legal team submitted its rebuttal to the initial petition. Now, the Riverside legal team is submitting its petitioner’s response to Linn County.
Riverside and the foundation claim the Linn County ballot was worded wrong in 2021, it asked voters to “continue” gaming in the county when it had not begun.
However, Linn County argues the petition itself is a delay tactic by Riverside because it does not want a casino to be built in Cedar Rapids.
