National and Jalisco state authorities led the destruction procedure of the seized material.

Mexico.- A total of 133 slot machines that were operating illegally were destroyed in an operation in the city of Tonalá, in the state of Jalisco. Municipal authorities of Tonalá, from the National Defense Secretariat, the State Police, the Metropolitan Police, and the National Guard participated in the procedure.

The confiscated devices were collected in the neighborhoods of Santa Paula, Jauja, Alamedas de Zalatitán, Santa Rosa, and Colonia Jalisco. The most recent operation took place on Monday, January 13, which concluded with the seizure of 47 illegal machines. The Commissariat of the Preventive Police of Tonalá and the municipal Inspection and Surveillance staff led three of the operations, while the fourth involved various public security institutions.

It is worth remembering that these devices are illegal when they lack permission to operate and because they are associated with unregulated gambling. The law states that only establishments with the corresponding permits can conduct these bets. Local authorities expressed that inter-institutional operations will continue to seek to eradicate clandestine gambling.
