The Spanish group purchased 51 percent of Zamba, a major Colombian operator.
Colombia.- Grupo Orenes announced that it signed an agreement to acquire 51 percent of Zamba Colombia, a company of the Grupo Vicca with a license to operate in the Colombian online betting market.
According to Spanish media, the purchase of the majority stake in Zamba Colombia was made with the intention of enhancing the online offering of products and services of Orenes in Colombian territory, taking into account the needs and preferences of that market.
In this way, the Spanish company manages to position itself strongly in Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, and Austria, in addition to its country of origin, while Zamba “will contribute its knowledge of the local market, given its history in managing physical casinos and sports betting in different regions of the country”.

In a statement, Alejandro Torralba, director of the Online Division of Grupo Orenes, said: “This operation reinforces our international expansion strategy and ensures our positioning as one of the main operators in the sector globally”.
For his part, Rodrigo Afanador, CEO of Grupo Vicca, added: “This alliance will allow us to tackle new challenges and consolidate our position in the Colombian market”.
In 2024, Orenes launched Versus, its sports betting and online casino, with the goal of consolidating its leadership in new regions, especially Latin America. To open up new possibilities in emerging markets, it hired the advertising agency La Despensa.
In July of last year, Versus announced an international collaboration agreement with Juventus F.C., thus becoming the official betting house of the Italian club for Latin America.
