The authorities detained three women, linked to two different cases: one of unlicensed virtual casinos and another of illegal bingo.
Argentina.- Within the framework of an investigation into clandestine gambling, the Sub-Directorate of Investigations of Bolívar, in the province of Buenos Aires, carried out three successful raids in that city, with a highly positive outcome in terms of the seizure of elements linked to illegal activities. The proceedings, supervised by the Bolívar Prosecutor's Office and the case holder, Julia María Sebastián, were the result of intelligence work and monitoring initiated ex officio by the local Sub DDI officers.
In total, the investigations led to two independent cases, both focused on the operation of gambling outside the legally established framework.
The first case, initiated in the second half of December 2024, targets two adult women who operated as cashiers in clandestine virtual casinos. During the raids, various electronic devices were seized, as well as records and entries linked to the activity. Additionally, it was discovered that these individuals were part of an organization based in another city, on which investigations are already underway.
In the context of the second investigation, a woman who operated illegal bingos from her home was identified, using social networks to conduct live draws and take bets. The operation allowed the seizure of electronic devices used for the broadcasts and to carry out the draws through a mobile application.
