The Gambling Commission (UKGC) has called on licensed operators and suppliers to ensure they are not contributing to the unlicensed gambling sector in the UK.

In a blog post shared on its website [Monday], the regulator said it had “become aware of casino games supplied by licensed operators appearing on unlicensed websites available to Great British consumers illegally.”

The news follows the UKGC placing Evolution’s license under review in December last year, over potential connections to unlicensed operators targeting the UK market.

In its latest call to action, the regulator underscored that unregulated operators often do not provide the same safeguards as are required of licensed operators, such as self-exclusion schemes, AML procedures and data privacy requirements.
