A Malaysian man working in Singapore has gone missing after a trip to Bangkok, Thailand. The Malaysian Embassy in Thailand is collaborating with Thai authorities to actively search for him.

According to Bong Yik Jiu, the acting representative of Malaysia in Thailand, the embassy has assigned staff to work closely with the missing man's family to quickly ascertain his whereabouts.

The missing man's relatives have posted a missing person notice on the social media platform Xiaohongshu, calling for the public to provide any information.

The missing man, named Andy Jee Ying Kit, is 30 years old and from Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. He currently works and lives in Singapore.

He is about 170 cm tall, overweight, and has dark skin. According to his family, Andy traveled to Bangkok with a friend on January 8th, and was supposed to return to Singapore on January 15th. However, he did not return to his job after the holiday ended, and his family learned through relatives that he had lost contact.

Andy's cousin mentioned that although Andy had told his family he was going to Thailand with a friend, the family was not aware of the friend's identity.

The family immediately began to check if Andy had returned to Singapore. If not, they plan to go to Thailand to report the disappearance and search for him.

Bong Yik Jiu, the acting representative of Malaysia in Thailand, stated that the embassy team has obtained the missing person's passport information and has submitted it to the Thai police to assist in the investigation.

He also mentioned that the Thai police have received a missing person report and are intensifying their search for Andy.

In recent years, there have been frequent incidents of tourists going missing in Thailand, especially involving tourists from Malaysia and China. Recently, Malaysian police also uncovered a case involving illegal online gambling, where over 30 employees were lured to Thailand and eventually trafficked to Myanmar as "piglets." These incidents have raised widespread public concern about tourist safety.

Currently, Malaysian and Thai police are closely cooperating to resolve this missing person case as soon as possible.
