The measure seeks to ensure that these social media influencers take precautions to avoid involvement with illegal companies.
Brazil.- The Civil Police of Alagoas has started a guidance phase with digital influencers. These professionals, whose activity is regulated by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, play a prominent role in promoting brands, services, and even online games.
According to delegate Lucimério Campos, head of the Delegation of Fraud, the institution aims to guide influencers so that, when signing contracts with betting and gaming platforms, they take the necessary precautions to avoid involvement with illegal companies.
"Therefore, when contacted by these companies, one should, first of all, ensure that the company is authorized by the Ministry of Finance," explained the delegate and added: "If the name of the company or betting house is on that list, the influencer can then sign a contract and begin promoting the games provided by legalized and certified betting houses."
The verification of the legality of the companies ensures that the promoted games are certified, protecting followers from malicious links or financial losses.
The Civil Police emphasized that it is intensifying supervision and that any complaint related to the dissemination of links or games from clandestine companies will be investigated.

"If it is verified that the influencer, illegally, is promoting betting houses or unauthorized games, a Detailed Occurrence Report will be drafted or, depending on the situation, an Arrest Warrant in Flagrante, for crimes against the popular economy and the contravention of gambling," detailed Campos.
