Netizen submission, unknown which company's netizen submitted this news, Asia-Pacific has made headlines again!

Here is the news translation:

In the online scam companies of Shwe Kokko New City in Myawaddy Township, Kayin State, Myanmar, the Border Guard Force (BGF) will charge each worker 5,000 Thai Baht per month starting from February, nearly doubling the previous fee of 3,000 Thai Baht.

According to insiders, these fees go directly into the hands of BGF commander Soe Chi.

Currently, there are about 30,000 to 60,000 online scam workers in Shwe Kokko New City, and BGF earns at least 150 million Thai Baht per month from them. These fees do not include other expenses such as utilities, company license fees, and taxes.

Several economic projects in Myawaddy Township, including Shwe Kokko New City, Asia-Pacific New City, Dongmei Park, Yulong Bay Park, Apollo Park, Jinxin Park, KK Park, and Myawaddy New City, are all led by BGF in collaboration with Chinese businessmen and international criminal groups, involving illegal casinos and online scams.

According to a report by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), BGF earns about 700 million US dollars annually from these online criminal activities, while the annual total income of the illegal online criminal groups supported by BGF is about 3.8 billion US dollars.

USIP notes that the core leadership of BGF, including Soe Chi, someone named Soe East, and Soe Thin Win, are directly involved in accepting and assisting Chinese online criminal groups, with Soe Thin Win responsible for providing electricity and internet resources from Thailand.

Meanwhile, these online scam groups have gradually moved from northern Shan State to Kayin State and operate under the control of BGF.

The USIP report also emphasizes that BGF has been renamed as KNA, with over 8,000 members, forming a powerful armed force.

Due to the complex role of BGF/KNA in the situation in Myanmar, both the Myanmar military and the Karen National Union (KNU) currently do not wish to engage in direct conflict with it.
