Recently, the police in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, conducted a raid targeting an illegal online football gambling site located just 500 meters from a local school. It is reported that the site mainly targets children and teenagers, with a monthly turnover of up to 1 million Thai Baht.

Police act on tips, shut down gambling site

This operation was led by senior officers such as Police Major General Trairong Phiwphann and Police Major General Wiwat Kamchamnarn. Following relevant tips, the police executed a search warrant issued by the court and searched a commercial building in the center of Ubon Ratchathani, on Thamwithi 4 Lane.

The two-story storefront, equipped with colored glass, offers online football betting services to the public through various websites such as www.League88.net and www.lucky888.com, and minors can also access these sites to gamble.

Police find gambling equipment on site, suspect admits to running illegal site

This action is part of the Thai police's efforts to combat illegal online gambling activities, especially those near educational institutions.

The cyber patrol team was responsible for monitoring the platform. Upon entering the premises, the police found several computers used for gambling. The suspect, Wasan, admitted to operating the gambling site and encouraged gambling through advertising, offering cash betting services.

The police confiscated 11 desktop computers, two laptops, and other equipment, revealing that the site's monthly turnover reached 1 million Thai Baht.

Wasan is currently facing charges of organizing and promoting gambling without official permission, as well as enticing individuals to participate in illegal gambling activities.

Police continue to crack down on illegal gambling activities, suspect handed over to judicial authorities

According to reports, the police will continue to intensify their crackdown on illegal gambling activities in the area. The confiscated items and the suspect have been handed over to the Division 2 of the Technology Crime Suppression Division 3 (TCSD 3) for further legal proceedings.
