Philippine police successfully cracked a kidnapping case, rescuing a 29-year-old Chinese man at SM Aura mall in Taguig City's BGC Global City and arresting two suspects.
The case dates back to January 20 at 2:30 AM, when the victim was kidnapped by four unidentified individuals in Makati City, subsequently pushed into a black SUV, and taken to a secret location where he was detained. During this period, the victim was not only abused but also threatened with his life. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of 60,000 RMB from the victim's family in China.
After the family paid 49,000 RMB, the kidnappers did not release the hostage. With no other options, the family sought help from the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines and officially reported the case to the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) on January 23.
The police then conducted an in-depth investigation, and using clues exposed during a video call by the kidnappers, they pinpointed their location. In cooperation with the management of SM Aura mall, the police successfully carried out the rescue operation.
During the operation, the victim was safely rescued, and two Chinese suspects were arrested on the spot. The police also found several casino membership cards on the suspects, bearing their photos and related information.
Currently, both the victim and the suspects have been taken to the PNP-AKG headquarters in Quezon City for further investigation. The police stated that the charging documents are being prepared, and the case will be handled according to the law.
