On February 1st, the Deputy Chief of Udon Thani Police Station in Thailand held a press conference to report on the results of a joint operation with other relevant departments to combat telecom fraud gangs.

On January 9th, Udon Thani Police Station, along with Langkawi Police Station and the Immigration Bureau, conducted a joint operation in the central district of Udon Thani County, raiding an apartment and seizing 6 SIM BOX devices on the spot, with 2 suspects fleeing due to fear of arrest.

On January 10th, Udon Thani Court issued arrest warrants No. 11/2568 and 12/2568, ordering the police to arrest CHING HSUAN HUANG (27, Taiwanese) for "unauthorized manufacturing, possession, use, import or export of radio communication devices," and to confiscate 6 SIM BOX devices. During the arrest, it was discovered that suspect HUANG had fled to Laos on January 9th.

In the search operation, the police also found that the person in charge of the apartment where the fraud gang resided had not notified the Immigration Bureau within 24 hours of foreigners staying, which is suspected of violating Article 38 of the 1979 Immigration Act. Legal action will be taken against them.

Subsequently, Udon Thani police continued to expand their investigation scope and intensity, successfully intercepting and arresting another suspect of the fraud gang, HSI TING (Taiwanese), at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The Deputy Chief of Udon Thani Police Station revealed that each of the 6 confiscated SIM BOX devices could dial out 25,000 numbers per day. Assuming all 6 devices operated simultaneously, it is estimated that 15 numbers would receive scam calls each day.

This police operation aimed to solve the problem at its source, completely eliminating the telecom fraud gang. As for the other suspect, a warrant has been issued, and the police are making all-out efforts to capture him.
