Peoria officials presented representatives from Boyd Gaming multiple locations in the city they think could be plausible spots for a new casino to be built.
The future of the Par-A-Dice Casino, which is operated by Boyd Gaming, has been in flux for months after Boyd indicated last year that it has intentions to build a new land-based casino, replacing the riverboat casino in East Peoria.
Officials from Peoria have been trying to entice Boyd Gaming to build a new facility on their side of the river in accordance with a 1991 agreement signed between East Peoria and Peoria that dictated any new land-based casino would have to be on Peoria’s side of the river.
