There have been “dozens of reports” to an illegal gambling notification portal recently established in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA) and VLNOK, two Dutch trade associations, reported that these include misuse of logos and names of operators in advertisements and URLs.
The portal, named Meld Vals Spel – Report Foul Play – has also received reports of illegal or misleading advertising aimed at Dutch players, NOGA said on LinkedIn.
Offers from illegal advertisers using cloaking – where the advertising platform is shown a different content of ads than visitors – have been reported too.
“In addition, we receive signals about minors who can gamble at illegal gambling sites. Here they end up on TikTok, for example, through advertisements,” NOGA said.
“We would like to receive more reports about this. For example, from players or parents.”
