In Bangkok, Thailand, a raid destroyed an illegal online gambling network, and three Chinese men were arrested. It is reported that this gambling network has more than 200,000 members, with a daily transaction volume exceeding 2 million Thai Baht.
The Tourist Police raided a luxury apartment in Huai Wang district, arresting 41-year-old Wen Chong, 24-year-old Peng Cheng, and 31-year-old Pu Hong. The suspects are allegedly connected to the "Dafa Entertainment" gambling site, a gambling operation based in Cambodia, reportedly owned by Chinese investors involved in so-called grey industries.
During the raid, the police seized five computers, 11 mobile phones, 13 SIM cards, one OTP token, 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a small amount of methamphetamine.
The director of the Tourist Police Bureau, Sakira Pekan, revealed that the suspects rented this apartment for 100,000 Thai Baht per month, but had no apparent job income, which raised police suspicions and ultimately led to their arrest.
"Wen Chong and Pu Hong are also on the Chinese government's wanted list."
The three suspects are currently facing charges of operating an illegal gambling website, possession of drugs, and illegal possession of ammunition, and have been handed over to Huai Wang Police Station for processing.
This operation is part of Thailand's ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal work by foreigners, especially those involved in the gambling industry. The police continue to investigate transnational crime networks within Thailand and vow to destroy these illegal enterprises driven by foreign investors.
In similar cases, Thailand's Cyber Crime Police raided three locations in Chiang Rai related to the OK2D online gambling network, arresting eight administrators. This operation involved more than 200,000 players, with financial transactions exceeding 1 billion Thai Baht.
