Macau welcomed a total of 1,309,595 visitors during this year’s eight-day Chinese New Year Golden Week, a decrease of about 3% compared to last year.
According to provisional figures released by the Public Security Police Force, the number of visitor arrivals on the last day of Golden Week on Tuesday was 137,283, an increase of about 9.8% compared to 125,029 on the last day of the 2024 CNY Golden Week.
However, the number of arrivals for the first seven days from 28 January to 3 February fell by 4.8% versus the same period in 2024 to 1,172,312. Among the arrivals, there were 891,598 mainland visitors, a decrease of 6% year-on-year, and 208,648 Hong Kong visitors, a decrease of 5.4% year-on-year.
