Recently, the police in Tak Province, Thailand, successfully cracked a smuggling case, arresting a 54-year-old man who attempted to smuggle computer equipment and surveillance cameras to a call center gang in Myawaddy, Myanmar.
This operation was led by Police Major General Kittisak Durongkaviboon, with multiple law enforcement teams involved.
The suspect, Anusak Wongnoi from Mae Sot District, was carrying a large amount of smuggled goods, including 26 routers, 17 empty computer cases, 76 CCTV cameras, one server, 305 meters of internet cable in four boxes, 100 CCTV camera mounts, 40 internet connection devices, and 20 signal converters.
In addition, the police seized 173,020 Thai Baht in cash.
The arrest took place in Village 4, Mecharae Town, Mae Ramat District. The police set up checkpoints and intercepted the suspect's vehicle by patrolling and monitoring major routes.
During the search, the police found the smuggled items and unloaded them for further inspection. Investigations revealed that these devices were prepared for a call center gang planning to relocate their operations to Myawaddy, Myanmar.
All the seized items and the suspect have now been handed over to the Mae Ramat police for further investigation and legal proceedings. This arrest operation highlights the Thai government's determination to curb illegal trafficking activities in border areas.
