The police at the Nakhon Pathom Immigration Bureau conducted a raid and seized a large illegal online gambling venue located in a mansion in the Mueang district of Nakhon Pathom.
During the operation, 10 people were arrested, including 4 Thais and 6 Laotians. The homeowner was not present during the raid.
Following intelligence, the police obtained a search warrant, entered the mansion, and found that the computers inside were interacting with users on multiple online gambling platforms.
The police confirmed that the organization operated several online gambling websites, including two Thai sites, Lion777 and Bear798, and one Laotian site, UefaLa88.
The gambling venue had a considerable transaction volume, with the Thai sites generating about 2 million Thai Baht (approximately $57,000) per month, and the Laotian site about 1.5 million Thai Baht (approximately $44,600) per month.
In this operation, the police confiscated a large amount of electronic equipment, including seven monitors, three CPUs, one all-in-one machine, mobile phones, and bank account records.
The investigation also revealed that the involved Laotian personnel often illegally crossed into Thailand via the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge in Nakhon Pathom without registering their accommodation details and had suspicious movements.
According to reports, the police suspect that the property was not legally declared for employing foreign workers and might be involved in illegal activities. This operation successfully dismantled the online gambling center, and the police plan to expand the investigation to track down the masterminds. The arrested suspects will face charges of aiding online gambling and will be legally punished.
