The Bureau of Immigration (BI) of the Philippines has recently launched another large-scale deportation operation, expelling 26 illegal foreigners, including 23 Chinese nationals and 3 Malaysians. These individuals have departed on flights operated by Philippine Airlines and Malaysia Airlines.
According to the immigration bureau, the deported individuals were part of the 450 foreign nationals arrested in January during law enforcement operations, suspected of violating Philippine immigration laws and involved in illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) scam activities.
Immigration officials emphasized that the government is intensifying efforts to cleanse the country of foreigners involved in illegal activities and is collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure that the Philippines does not become a haven for criminals.
Recently, the Philippine government has conducted several raids against the illegal POGO industry, deporting a large number of non-compliant foreign nationals, with more similar actions expected in the future.
