In Mongar Township, Monga District, northern Shan State, another 21 Chinese citizens involved in illegal online gambling and financial fraud have been arrested.
The authorities have been conducting inspections and identifying foreigners who have entered Myanmar illegally. It has been found that most of these individuals entered Myanmar through neighboring countries, aiming to benefit themselves. The government, along with regional and state officials, security forces, and cooperative organizations, has been working diligently to detect and arrest those involved in illegal online gambling, financial fraud, and other criminal activities.
In this operation, the Myanmar police arrested 21 Chinese citizens suspected of illegal online gambling and financial fraud in Mong Ha area of Mongar Township, northern Shan State. The Myanmar police are conducting necessary investigations and handling the matters according to legal procedures.
In the mentioned area, a total of 102 people have been arrested for engaging in illegal online gambling and financial fraud.
This includes 5 security personnel, 48 Chinese males and 2 females, 18 Vietnamese females, 5 Myanmar males, and 29 Myanmar females.
Additionally, 260 various mobile phones, 25 laptops, 21 desktops, 28 keyboards, 2 WiFi devices, 7 Starlink devices, 7 various weapons, 72 computers, 5 gaming consoles, 3 cars, and their related accessories were seized.
Currently, the relevant departments are investigating the arrested individuals and will take legal actions against them. In the spirit of humanitarianism and promoting international friendly relations, arrangements are being made to deport the foreign nationals back to their countries.
