According to estimates by the American Gaming Association, Americans will bet approximately USD1.390m on the upcoming Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, February 9.
United States.- The American Gaming Association (AGA) estimates that Americans will legally bet a record amount of USD1.390m on the Super Bowl LIX taking place next Sunday, February 9. According to the association, this new record highlights the ongoing expansion and enthusiasm around the legal sports betting market in North America.
Bill Miller, president and CEO of AGA, commented: "No event brings sports fans together like the Super Bowl, and that enthusiasm extends to sports betting, with this year's legal record reflecting its widespread appeal."
He added: "This figure underscores the positive impact of the legal market, from protecting consumers to generating tax revenues that benefit communities across the country, while enhancing the gaming experience for everyone."
The support of Americans for legal sports betting continues to grow. According to the 2024 American Attitudes Survey by AGA, 75 percent of Americans support legal sports betting in their home state and 90 percent consider sports betting an acceptable form of entertainment. Since the Supreme Court overturned PASPA in 2018, 38 states and D.C. have launched legal sports betting markets, expanding consumer access to safe and regulated options.
