Mexico.- A strong operation carried out by the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and personnel from the Attorney General's Office in the municipal head of Badiraguato, in the state of Sinaloa, resulted in the seizure of 20 slot machines that were operating illegally.
The actions were carried out at different points of the municipal head, where agents detected the presence of these clandestine mini casinos. According to security sources, the use of these machines is linked to criminal groups that use them for money laundering and other illicit activities.
The operation was carried out as part of the efforts of the federal forces to eradicate irregular businesses that may serve as a front for criminal operations. The installation of these devices in commercial premises, grocery stores, and even private homes represents a growing problem in various regions of the country, as it promotes illicit activities and affects the economy of the communities.
After the inspection and securing of the slot machines, the federal elements proceeded to transfer them to the offices of the Attorney General's Office, where they were made available to the Public Ministry agent.
Following this new operation, through the government of Sinaloa more than a thousand illegal slot machines have been confiscated through various security authority actions, reported the State Government.
The Secretary-General of Government and spokesperson for the Executive, Feliciano Castro Meléndrez, explained: "Right now, there are about 1,050 slot machines, we are going to have a conference where we will be making a new summary of results from the last month of January».
