Shreveport/Bossier City area casinos have seen a drop in revenue over the past few years. But with a new casino opening this week, there could be some positive impacts for the gaming market.
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board reports that Lake Charles, with right under $60 million, leads the state in casino revenue for December. It has three riverboat casinos, while the Shreveport/Bossier City market has six.
Even with twice the number of casinos, the Shreveport/Bossier City market saw revenue of only $45 million in December.
Competition in Oklahoma and market shifts have impacted our casinos’ bottom line, the gaming control board’s chairman said. KSLA News 12 also asked what impact Live! Casino’s opening this week could have for other casinos in the Shreveport/Bossier City market.
