Missouri casinos report 3.5% revenue increase year-over-year in January

Missouri’s 13 licensed riverboat casinos generated more than $140 million in revenue in January, up a 3.5 percent from last year.

Table wins generated $20.4 million in January, up 3 percent from the previous year, according to the Missouri Gaming Commission. Electronic gaming devices totaled $119.5 million, a 4 percent increase compared to the previous year, which generated $115.2 million.

Nine casinos eported year-over-year revenue increases, but only six generated revenue above $10 million. Ameristar St. Charles recorded the highest amount – $22.3 million, a 4 percent increase. River City Casino produced $19.1 million, up 8 percent year-over-year.

The remaining four casinos that reported revenue over $10 million as well as year-over-year revenue increases were Hollywood St. Louis ($18.6 million), Ameristar Kansas City ($14.2 million), Argosy ($12.5 million) and Harrah’s Kansas City ($12.1 million).

Bally’s Kansas City and Horseshoe St. Louis experienced a 2 percent revenue decline last month, reporting $9.2 million and $10.7 million in revenue, respectively. Isle of Capri Boonville and St. Jo Frontier recorded a 1 percent revenue drop, generating $5.9 million and $3.3 million, respectively.
