Recently, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has forcefully ordered the launch of the 10th "Operation Anti-Drug No. 1", targeting the rampant drug problem in the country. This operation requires the unified command of provinces, cities, districts, sub-districts, counties, and townships nationwide to thoroughly review and update the list of places vulnerable to drug harm, focusing on areas that are likely to become hotbeds of drug-related crimes.
According to the directive, owners and managers of the relevant places must attend a summons to provide detailed explanations about the security conditions within their premises. Additionally, they are required to sign a cooperation agreement, taking primary responsibility to enhance prevention awareness and strictly prevent drug crimes from occurring on their properties.
Hun Manet specifically emphasized that all provinces must intensify their efforts to crack down on drug-related venues. Once drug-related activities are detected, the involved venues will face severe penalties, including temporary suspension or permanent closure of business.
Key venues such as casinos, nightclubs, KTVs, bars, apartments, and hotels are particularly targeted in this operation for prevention and publicity. Through comprehensive inspections and publicity, the campaign aims to fully curb the breeding and spread of drug crimes.
