A senior official in the Philippines responsible for combating illegal gambling activities recently revealed that despite the government's complete ban on offshore gambling operators (POGO), there are still about 11,000 illegal workers engaged in fraudulent activities.
The Executive Director of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), Cruz, stated in an interview that the government is confident that it will completely eradicate illegal POGO activities within the next year. "Although progress is gradual, we will definitely complete this task. We have been working hard and have never stopped," he said.
According to the Bureau of Immigration (BI), there are about 11,000 former POGO workers scattered across the country. Cruz pointed out that most of these foreign workers have not changed their visa status and do not hold valid work permits.
