The Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs announced that regulations on online gambling will be issued soon.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto stated that strict regulation of online gambling would be implemented as soon as possible, and that the regulation needs to be stricter.
It is reported that nearly one million online gambling sites have been blocked, but Minister Mutiara Hafid emphasized that this number is not enough, and that simple blocking cannot be the only approach when dealing with online gambling issues.
It was also emphasized that cooperation must be carried out with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs, the Police Department, the Attorney General's Office, and other institutions to eradicate online gambling in Thailand.
Worth noting: In the first six days of 2025, Indonesia's Komdigi Department blocked 43,063 digital products related to online gambling content
Hafid said: "The President emphasized that handling online gambling must be stricter. One of the strategic steps to be taken soon is to issue regulations in the form of government regulations (PP) to regulate more firmly and comprehensively."
