Recently, Thai police arrested two leaders of a Chinese scam syndicate, YE Wanyou and Li Weijie, in a luxury residential area in the Ratchada district of Bangkok, seizing assets worth about 15 million Thai Baht. It is reported that these suspects are the masterminds of a telecommunications fraud group based on the 25th floor in Poipet, Cambodia.

This case was jointly investigated by the Cyber Police and the Bangkok Metropolitan Police Headquarters on February 5, 2025. Further investigation led to the discovery of a handbag named "Hidden Wallet," containing approximately 2,477,294.91 USDT (equivalent to 84 million Thai Baht), with total assets valued at about 100 million Thai Baht.

The investigation also revealed that these two Chinese suspects were involved in illegal labor activities, mainly operating through Mae Sot District in Tak Province, located on the Thai-Myanmar border, transporting labor illegally. Information from the suspects' mobile phones led to the discovery of a company called "Thai Termite Nest," which specializes in stealing personal information and selling it to fraud groups.

As of now, the police have discovered over 88,000 leaked personal information records. The fraud group, named Luckking, uses false promises to induce people to transfer funds in exchange for supposed prizes.

Further investigation revealed that the "Termite Nest" office of the fraud group is located in a commercial building in the Huay Kwang district of Bangkok. After undercover investigations by the Cyber Police, it was found that several Chinese companies suspected of fraud operate in the same building.

On the afternoon of February 18, Police General Jidira, Police Major General Tatchai, and over 50 officers launched an operation codenamed "Destroying Chinese Fraud Nest," raiding the Sermsub Building in the Ratchada district of Bangkok. They seized a large number of items, including the company sign of Luckking Limited, 13 employee ID lanyards, 8 embroidered LUCKKING brand Polo shirts, 1 lucky draw wheel, 1 LUCKKING QR code Line sticker, 10 LUCKKING recharge coupons, 1 set of brochures, 1 set of live broadcasting equipment, several documents related to Luckking Limited, and 1 safe.

The Thai police will continue to investigate this case further to uncover the activities behind the fraud network. The "Destroying Chinese Fraud Nest" operation not only demonstrates the Thai police's firm resolve in combating transnational telecommunications fraud but also shows Thailand's proactive attitude in cooperating with other countries to fight transnational crime. The police will continue to strengthen cooperation and surveillance to protect the public from such illegal activities.
