According to Thai media reports, the situation of foreigners under the supervision of the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) and the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF) in the Thai-Myanmar border area has been reported. The main issue currently is the supply of food, drinking water, and medicine after rescue. Among them, the problems faced by the DKBA are the most severe, and they have announced the suspension of rescue operations on the 21st.
Thai media reported that the leader of the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) stated to Myanmar media that there are currently 405 foreigners under DKBA's supervision, facing issues with food, drinking water, and water usage, with an excessive number of people and Thailand not accepting them. For now, he is concerned that due to the large number of people under supervision and these foreigners not being prisoners, some might escape to Thailand, which could pose a danger to Thailand.
Furthermore, the leader of the DKBA added that DKBA will still complete the cleanup of telecom fraud personnel within their jurisdiction in three months. However, according to his knowledge, most of the foreigners working in Myanmar went voluntarily, and deception occurs when they do not receive the agreed payment, such as being promised $1,200 per month but actually receiving 8,000 Thai Baht, along with instances of abuse or physical assault, and being sold to other companies in the form of human trafficking.
It is understood that before this, the Myanmar DKBA army had transferred 260 people to the Thai side, and currently, about 300 telecom fraud personnel still need to be managed and cared for. Meanwhile, the 310 military district of Wachira Prakan in Lai Xing Prefecture, Thailand, is also still overseeing more than 200 telecom fraud personnel, with the embassy having come to retrieve 28 people on the 18th of this month. Moreover, the border command center of Lai Xing Prefecture no longer accepts telecom fraud victims, requiring embassies from various countries to retrieve them themselves.
However, this does not include Chinese telecom fraud personnel from Myawaddy, as China has already arranged four flights to retrieve 200 people.
