On February 24, the security department in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand, updated the situation regarding the actions of the Border Guard Force (BGF) and the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) in dealing with telecom fraud gangs in the Myawaddy area.

It is reported that the BGF is still dispatching teams to continuously raid and arrest telecom fraud gangs in controlled areas such as ditches and KK Park.

As of now, the BGF has arrested and controlled about 6,500 foreigners, all members of telecom fraud gangs and victims of human trafficking, from over ten countries in ASEAN, Asia, and Africa, and is currently classifying them by nationality.

As a result, the BGF faces challenges in managing and caring for these individuals, hence the BGF hopes that the Thai embassy and other national embassies will coordinate with the Myanmar government to expedite the repatriation of their nationals. Recently, China has repatriated 621 people.

As for the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA), they have also gathered 401 foreigners, facing similar challenges in caring for and managing these individuals.
