The Philippine government continues to intensify its crackdown on illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO). According to statistics, over 2000 foreign workers associated with POGO have been deported, but about 10,000 foreign nationals remain in the Philippines, waiting for further processing.
Winston Casio, the director of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), stated that the government has initiated a series of raids and rescue operations to completely eradicate the criminal networks related to POGO.
"Since February 13, we have been almost continuously in action, and in the coming weeks, we expect to trace more members of Chinese criminal gangs involved," Casio revealed in an interview.
Casio emphasized that the government is working closely with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to thoroughly eliminate illegal activities associated with POGO. He noted that although some foreign workers have been successfully repatriated, a large number of personnel remain, and the government is accelerating the investigation and processing.
The Philippine government promises to continue its strong crackdown on illegal POGO activities, ensuring social order stability and strengthening immigration control to prevent the resurgence of similar criminal activities. Meanwhile, the government calls on the public to actively report suspicious POGO operations and jointly maintain social safety.
