The Philippine gaming regulatory authority PAGCOR has issued a public warning against a fake website that uses forged forms and content to issue gambling licenses and certifications. PAGCOR states that the creators of the website are fraudsters.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco stated: "We urge the public not to download any content or make transactions with the counterfeit website using the domain name www.pagcorphilippines.com, as this website is definitely not from PAGCOR, and all its contents are forged."

"We have reported this incident to the Department of Information and Communications Technology. We are also working to identify the individuals behind this scam and will pursue them to the fullest extent of the law."

Tengco also revealed that the fake website went online last Saturday (February 22), when PAGCOR's headquarters were closed.

He said: "This is clearly intended to deceive people, especially those seeking to obtain operating licenses from PAGCOR. If you wish to transact with PAGCOR, our only legitimate website is www.pagcor.ph."

Two months ago, the Philippines enacted an offshore gambling ban named POGO, as part of a nationwide effort to combat criminal activities.
