Philippines' Interior Minister Jonvic Remulla, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) head Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, and the director of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), Col. Elmer Ragay, held a press conference at the presidential palace to report on the investigation progress of the recent kidnapping case involving students from an international school in Taguig City.
During the conference, Remulla revealed that the police had successfully located the victim student and confirmed their safety. He emphasized that no ransom was paid to the kidnappers throughout the rescue process.
Remulla stated that the investigation suggests that the criminal group behind the kidnapping might be linked to Philippine gambling companies. He stressed, "We have good reason to believe that this criminal gang is still hiding within the country. We will spare no effort to completely dismantle them as soon as possible."
AKG director Col. Ragay added that the criminal group involved consists of suspects of Chinese and Filipino nationality, and the police have identified them and are currently tracking them down. "We have a detailed understanding of their backgrounds and are fully committed to capturing them," he said.
The Philippine police are intensifying their investigation of the case and vow to bring the criminals to justice to ensure public safety.
