The recent kidnapping case of a Chinese boy in the Philippines has drawn widespread attention in the society, and its brutal methods have alarmed President Marcos. According to the Philippine Interior Minister Jonvic Remulla, Marcos has issued a strict order to pursue the 22 suspects involved and ensure their swift arrest.
Remulla stated that the kidnapping group consists of 22 members, including 4 Chinese nationals who are the leaders, with the remaining 18 responsible for security. The criminal gang's actions are extremely violent; they brutally cut off the fingers of the victim boy and sent them back to his family to coerce them into paying a $20 million ransom for the boy's freedom.
"This case is shocking, and both the planners and the victim's family are related to the POGO industry," Remulla revealed. The mastermind had operated an illegal POGO from 2017 to 2022 and was notorious for being involved in a murder case at a restaurant in Makati last year.
"He is still in the Philippines, and we have identified his identity and range of activities. It is almost certain that they will be arrested soon!" Remulla firmly stated.
The police, through signal interception and close surveillance, successfully located the hiding place of the victim boy. When the kidnappers realized the police were closing in, they abandoned their vehicle and fled, resulting in the boy being safely rescued. Meanwhile, the police discovered the victim's vehicle in San Rafael, Bulacan province, with the driver suspected of colluding with the kidnappers. His mobile data revealed direct contacts with the criminal group, likely making him an accomplice.
Remulla assured the Philippine public that the police have taken comprehensive measures to ensure that similar cases do not occur again. He emphasized: "The Philippine National Police has sufficient resources and capabilities to deal with such crimes, and we will do everything possible to ensure the safety of the Filipino people."
The investigation of this case is still ongoing, and the police have intensified the nationwide pursuit, vowing to bring the suspects to justice.
