The Technical Crime Suppression Center of the Fifth Police District in Thailand, in collaboration with multiple departments, arrested 9 Chinese nationals and 1 Thai citizen. Previously, the police were informed that a group of Chinese were gathering in the Mueang area of Chiang Rai Province, suspected of engaging in online fraud activities.
After investigation, the police discovered that the gang was residing in a house in Ban Du town, and immediately launched a search operation, successfully arresting the following individuals:
1. Cao Taiqing (transliteration), 32 years old, Chinese nationality;
2. Tu Xing (transliteration), 29 years old, Chinese nationality;
3. Yi Xiu (transliteration), 30 years old, Chinese nationality;
4. Duan Guangshun (transliteration), 21 years old, Chinese nationality;
5. Li Jiawei (transliteration), 22 years old, Chinese nationality;
6. Yang Lianwei (transliteration), 24 years old, Chinese nationality;
7. Cheng Yue (transliteration), 20 years old, Chinese nationality;
8. Zhang Kaihang (transliteration), 32 years old, Chinese nationality;
9. Huang Rangxin (transliteration), 26 years old, Chinese nationality;
10. Orathai Sangnuam, 21 years old, resident of Mae Suai district, Chiang Rai Province.
Among the arrested Chinese gang, some members did not have passports, only passport photos.
Upon investigation, they admitted to illegally entering Thailand through natural pathways, while others entered on student visas which had expired and were still staying illegally in Thailand.
