Thai media have obtained information from multiple reliable sources that a group of Chinese people are planning to rent an apartment in Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, and intend to lease about 1000 apartments. This astonishing number of rentals has quickly attracted widespread public attention.

Meanwhile, Thai media have also obtained some photos as evidence, showing a large number of takeaway lunch boxes being delivered to the Chinese residents of the apartment. The quantity of each delivery is considerable and needs to be distributed across different floors. Further investigation revealed that an intermediary contacted the apartment property, planning to rent 1000 apartments, with a monthly rent of 20,000 Thai Baht per apartment. The tenants stated that these apartments will be used for "telecommunications business".

This news has attracted high attention from the Thai media, and a team of reporters immediately launched an in-depth investigation and interviewed the surrounding residents. The residents mentioned that although they had seen Chinese people entering and exiting the area, they did not notice activities as frequently as described in the media reports.

The apartment is named "M Society". Thai media contacted the apartment property management and, after much effort, finally met with the property manager. The person in charge, Ban Wenwei, has served as a consultant to the Ministry of Defense, deputy minister, a special royal palace guard officer, and a former member of the national legislature.

Ban Wenwei stated that initially, there were reports from residents about the suspicious behavior of the Chinese tenants, claiming that these tenants hardly went out, except to pick up takeaways and shop at nearby convenience stores. Ban Wenwei emphasized that the property management has been closely monitoring these tenants' activities and has notified the local police and immigration police.

According to Ban Wenwei, in the past eight months, the property management has faced various thorny issues, including foreigners being arrested for drug-related cases, and the discovery of short-term rentals in the apartments. Three months ago, when he personally conducted an investigation, he found that most foreign tenants did not have a legal work permit.

The apartment has a total of 1099 rooms, and after inspection, currently, only 4 foreigners are residing legally. Previously, there were 70 foreign tenants without legal residency status, and currently, only 10 are still being processed. The property management department has taken action, canceling the entry permits of these illegal tenants and cutting off their water and electricity supply, and will take further legal measures if necessary.

Furthermore, Ban Wenwei also revealed that there had been instances where fake companies were set up to provide nominal legal representation for Chinese investors, and requests were made to other apartment managements for administrative rights, which led to election corruption issues. As the situation develops, the incident has also attracted widespread attention from all sectors of society, and further investigations are still ongoing.
