Please note, if you hold a BDO Cash Card, hurry up and withdraw all your money, or go to a nearby branch to replace it with a new card!
The largest bank in the Philippines, BDO, has announced that the BDO Cash Card will be discontinued on March 31. Cash Card holders can go to the nearest BDO branch to replace their Cash Card with a BDO Pay Card for free.
When going to the BDO branch counter, cardholders need to bring a valid ID and their Cash Card, register on-site, and create a new account to activate the new BDO Pay Card for free. This replacement is only available for personal Cash Cards; if it is a payroll Cash Card, it must be handled by the company.
Additionally, BDO reminds that users should withdraw the balance through ATMs or spend it through POS before March 31, after which the Cash Card will no longer be usable for transactions.
Unlike the Cash Card, the BDO Pay Card can be used in conjunction with the BDO Pay app for scan payments, paying bills, or transferring funds. Both cards allow customers to withdraw money for free at any BDO ATM nationwide and use the card for payments in stores that support BancNet debit cards.
BDO states that the Pay Card does not require a minimum deposit or a maintaining balance, and users can top up through BDO self-service devices, the Pay app, or over the counter.
Furthermore, BDO also plans to relaunch a new website platform by the end of March.
