A spokesperson for BGF stated: BGF forces raided a building in Myawaddy city, successfully rescuing 58 Indonesian citizens who were illegally detained. This operation was based on investigative leads on a telecom fraud group.
The rescued Indonesian citizens, all lacking legal identification documents, have now been placed in the Aung Sabai Hotel, awaiting repatriation by the Indonesian government. Victims, through a translator, expressed that recent actions against telecom fraud are being led by BGF leader Su Chi Tu in Myawaddy.
BGF urges the Indonesian government to expedite the repatriation of the rescued individuals.
