The chief of the first division of Thailand's Tourist Police revealed that, following superior directives, the Tourist Police has intensified its crackdown on foreigners and Chinese grey production involved in illegal activities. On the 7th of this month, four Chinese nationals were arrested and charged with illegal participation in organizing or inviting others to engage in gambling activities.

This operation was initiated after Tourist Police personnel learned in February that a group of suspicious Chinese individuals had moved into a luxury mansion in the Lopburi area, seemingly unemployed yet able to afford a monthly rent of 46,000 Thai Baht. Further investigation confirmed the likelihood of illegal activities, prompting the police to obtain a search warrant and conduct a raid.

Upon searching the premises, the police found four Chinese nationals, four computers, and eight mobile phones, and took all suspects back to the station for further investigation.

After examining the computers, the police discovered a homepage for a gambling website. All four were responsible for programming and maintaining the website for the Chinese group, with a monthly salary of about 50,000 USDT (approximately 1.6 million Thai Baht), and each project could earn a compensation of 1 million Thai Baht.

The police advise social media users to carefully check and be cautious when applying for anything or making transactions through banking apps, to avoid falling into scam traps.

If you encounter the above situations, you can go to the police to file a complaint or call the Tourist Police's 24-hour hotline.
