Facing another round of disappointing returns, Bally’s temporary Chicago casino is leaning more than ever on its near round-the-clock shuttle service offered to Chinatown residents, leading some community leaders to accuse the company of targeting historically Asian neighborhoods.
The temporary casino’s River North location in the historic Medinah Temple building will be replaced by a permanent casino under construction in River West and is scheduled to open in late 2026. But the temporary casino’s performance has so far been a disappointment, the company’s CEO admitted Wednesday.
“Our Chicago temporary casino’s results were consistent with prior quarters as they remain below our expectations,” CEO Robeson Reeves stated in a press release regarding Bally’s Corp. 2024 earnings.
